Free Intro to Basic Pistol Shooting

Service Description

This course is designed for potential and new gun owners, or those with beginner to intermediate level gun knowledge. This course will strengthen and enhance your overall knowledge pistol usage, operations and safety. This course is highly recommended, though not required, for those with little to no experience with firearms who are considering obtaining a MN carry permit and includes 2 hours of in-person classroom instruction. Course topics include: -Gun ownership -Firearm safety rules -Safe firearm handling, carrying, and retention techniques -Basic pistol information including types of pistols, -Different types of ammunition -Loading and unloading, cocking and de-cocking and clearing stoppages and malfunctions -Disassembling the firearm -Proper handgun cleaning techniques -Shooting fundamentals including stances and proper techniques to grip and sight the handgun -Safe firearm storage and home safety -Range safety This course is facilitated by a certified instructor but this does NOT satisfy the requirements to apply for a MN carry permit. If you have your own firearm and you have a valid MN Permit to Carry, you will have the option of bringing your firearm to class to assist you with learning. All firearms are to be checked by the instructor prior to class. No live ammunition is to be brought into class. Cost: Free Families, couples, youth are welcome. All minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian
